I love old newspaper articles, especially the endless headlines. There are a few rags around that have that same breathless tone (the NY Daily News springs to mind...glancing there today, I find that Arnold Schwarzenegger "offers 'Total Recall' of the infidelity that ruined his marriage"), but it seems that EVERY newspaper used to sound like that. As amusing as they seem now, it would have been horrible to actually be the people covered in those articles, and I'm glad our standards are a bit, if not much, higher today! Hugs for you, it's always nice to visit your blog :0)

I honestly think I could spend whole days messing about in some of these digitized newspaper collections: they're full of incredible stuff! I'm forever getting distracted by things that have nothing to do with my actual research.

If you do decide to look into family history, best of luck. I know it's not for everyone but I love the way it leads you into odd corners of the historical record that you might never otherwise have reason to explore.

This is fascinating. Makes me want to search old newspapers on line. I haven't done much family research although I've been contemplating it lately. This might be just the inspiration I need. Thanks.
