Sparkly tiaras and top hats, 1934
Here’s a photo I recently scanned and retouched (only around the edges, where there was quite a lot more staining) from an album owned by my mother-in-law. It shows her mother, Molly (on the right), with her concert party troupe in 1934.
I do have more details and full names, but probably shouldn’t publish them here as I’m not in touch with the families of the other people in the photo. Love it, though, and I did mention a while ago to my mother-in-law that I might share it on the blog, so hopefully that is fine. Thanks to her, and appreciation for keeping such treasures safe – she has albums full of wonderful old photos like this. I look forward to showing them to my children when they’re old enough to be interested.
Actually, here’s another one. Am I nuts to feel slightly cross on behalf of Babs? Can’t help wondering whether she has been positioned over to one side because she’s not quite as sylph-like as the others. She still looks great, though.

Great photos :0
I love this post. I wonder if “Babs” had a bad leg or something as she’s seated in both pictures? *optimistic*
